Srixon ZX Driver Series Review
Srixon ZX Driver Series, What You Need To Know:
Srixon Golf is best known as a high quality golf ball company. For some, Srixon also holds high regard in both the iron and hybrid categories. For 2021, Srixon has released two drivers to provide golfers with a choice of ball flights. First, the Srixon ZX5 driver is higher launching with a single sole weight low and deep. Second, the ZX7 offers a lower more penetrating ball flight and two swappable heel and toe weights to help players adjust their driver to match their preferred shot shape. Importantly, both drivers offer adjustable hosels. Here, we provide a general overview of both the ZX5 and ZX7 drivers. Further, we include our data from Golf EQ Testers for the ZX5 driver.

Notably, Srixon Golf has garnered recent attention having been in the bag of current Masters Champion Hideki Matsuyama. Specifically, the new Srixon ZX drivers are built with a new Rebound Frame encouraging “Layers of Speed.” According to Srixon, ordinary drivers flex in the face, but Rebound Frame adds a second layer of flexibility for even more recoil at impact that acts like a spring within a spring. By refocusing the energy players might normally lose, Rebound Frame creates higher ball speeds on a wider variety of strikes.
Srixon ZX Driver Series Detailed Review
Srixon ZX5 Driver Design Review
First up, the ZX5 driver Is designed for the golfer looking to get maximum moment of inertia and increased launch. Purposely, the ZX5 features a larger footprint than the ZX7 driver to promote higher launching golf shots. Additionally, the ZX5 has a single weight which is placed low and back to offer more stability on mishits.
Srixon ZX7 Driver Design Review
Rounding out the ZX driver offerings, Srixon’s ZX7 is designed for the player looking for a lower, more penetrating ball flight and the ability to adjust shot shape. Rather than the rounded shape of the ZX5, the ZX7 driver is designed with a more compact shape and an adjustable heel and toe weighting. Lastly, the ZX7’s flatter head shape helps players find the upper portion of the club face more often encouraging the more penetrating ball flight many players are looking for.
